Biography
Steven Hillmer received his Ph.D. in business statistics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1976. He has been at the University of Kansas School of Business since fall 1977. He spent the 1979–80 academic year at the United States Census Bureau doing research on the seasonal adjustment of economic time series. This research has impacted the seasonal adjustment methods currently used at the U. S. Census Bureau. He has received research grants from the U. S. Census Bureau and the National Science Foundation. His research interests are in the area of time series analysis, applied statistics, and quality management. Dr. Hillmer is an elected fellow of the American Statistical Association.
